Our Pastor & First Lady

Pastor Jerald J. Mason, a native of Las Vegas, served under the pastorate of the late Superintendent C.H. Parson, as assistant pastor for 21 years (1977-1998) before becoming pastor of the Vegas View Church of God in Christ.

Pastor Mason served as District Sunday School Superintendent for the Fellowship District for eleven years. In 1994 he was appointed to the office of Nevada State Sunday School Superintendent by Bishop Carruth Hall. He served as Co-coordinator for the Nevada State AIM Department in 2001-2002.

Pastor Mason is a graduate of the Charles Harrison Mason Bible College where he received his degree in Pastoral Theology and Christian Education. He is a master teacher and served as the Workshop Coordinator for the Nevada Jurisdiction Churches of God in Christ. For ten years, Pastor Mason served as the coordinator of the Charles Harrison Mason Bible College under the Dean, Superintendent Lawrence Daniel. He serves on the Nevada Jurisdictional Ordination Board as secretary. He worked as a member on the Nevada Jurisdictional Publicity Board for many years. December 12,2006 Pastor Mason was appointed to be the fourth District Superintendent of the Fellowship District.

In 1999, Pastor Mason was appointed as Assistant National District Workers Council with Dr. Cedric Shelby. In February 2001 he was appointed to serve as Chairman of the National District State Sunday School Superintendent's Association. July 2003, Pastor Mason was appointed by National Sunday School Superintendent, Supt. Alton Gatlin, to serve as Regional Sunday School Superintendent supervising the work of the Sunday School in Region #13 which includes Nevada, Southern California, Arizona, and Hawaii.

Pastor Mason currently works as a certified Clark County Nevada Senior Building Inspector. He retired in1996 as a Structural Iron Worker Welder, working in the field for 25 years.

Missionary Margurite J. Mason, First Lady of Vegas View Church of God in Christ, was saved at the age of 13 and has been for more than 38 years. She is a third generation COGIC kid and has been a member of Vegas View for 31 years.

Missionary Mason has served in many capacities during her Christian walk. She is presently president of the Vegas View Elders and Ministers' Wives Council, Vegas View Executive Board Secretary, and on the Vegas View Mother's Board. She served as the executive secretary of the State Sunday School Department. Missionary Mason was appointed president of the State Publication Board during the 2006 Jurisdictional Assembly.

Missionary Mason's ministerial gifts are the gifts of healing, prophecy, and teaching, but she is always open to the Spirit of God for whatever He desires for her.

Pastor and Missionary Mason's greatest calling and richest blessing from God are their children Elder Jerald J. Mason II and his wife Robin, Elder Marcus J. Mason and his wife Beverly, and their daughter Marketta J. Kelley and her husband Elder Tony Kelley. They are proud grandparents of four wonderful granddaughters, KeAndra, Keira, Cassidy and Tonee, and four grandsons, Tyler, Greg, Solomon, and Mason J.
